The
resurgence of Alexandria wrestling continued Saturday at the Hamilton Heights
Sectional. The Tigers finished fourth in the 12 team field and crowned two
individual champions. Even more impressive, Alexandria put six wrestlers into
the championship round.
Frankton
ended ninth in the team standings and Elwood was tenth. That finish is a little
misleading for Elwood as the Panthers put three wrestlers into the finals but
failed to claim a title. Frankton did not have a grappler wrestle in the final
round.
Alexandria’s
champions were Levi Lanning at 119 lbs. and Eli Walker at 130 lbs. Video of
